SCOPE

Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency (UTOPIA) is a subdivision of the State of Utah consisting of 11 municipalities for the purpose of solving the last mile challenge in advanced communications. UTOPIA is the largest open access network in the US. Their goal is to provide every household and business in the markets they serve with access to advanced communications infrastructure, and to enable choice among services and service providers. To accomplish this, UTOPIA has built and is continuing to build an open access fiber optic network providing wholesale transport for retail service providers.

Foresite Group’s Broadband Engineering team is a trusted partner to UTOPIA providing the initial planning and design engineering, including field data collection and construction for their fiber optic network on an as-needed basis since 2019.
