DOWNTOWN LAGRANGE CIRCULATION STUDY
SCOPE
The City of LaGrange is planning to start construction on a 100-room hotel and a 2,000-seat amphitheater in the downtown area. The amphitheater has a capacity of 1,200 seats in the bowl with an additional capacity of 800 seats on the grassed areas and is planned for various uses ranging from small family reunions to large concerts. The developments are expected to generate an increased amount of traffic in the downtown area, especially during an event. Foresite Group conducted a traffic study to estimate the future traffic that will be generated and its effect on the traffic circulation and parking in the downtown square area. As part of the project, several different traffic operation scenarios were tested, including a two-way and one-way pair around the city block. Several locations were also analyzed for roundabout feasibility.
