SCOPE

Foresite Group completed master planning and design for a new passive park in the City of Holly Springs. This project was awarded through an on-call contract with the Cherokee County Recreation & Parks Agency. The 33-acre site has more than 80 feet of elevation changes, and it is bordered by numerous residential properties. Public involvement was a large component of the master planning phase and community feedback was a critical aspect of the design. Neighborhood users expressed a desire for a passive park with ADA-compliant trails, a restroom building, a playground and an open play field. The conceptual design placed high importance on maintaining existing trees on the property to address privacy concerns. The total project budget was $1.5 million and was funded through Cherokee County park bonds.
