SCOPE

Foresite Group worked to assess the site system and accessibility elements of 17 rest areas in the state of Georgia for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC). The rest stops were updated to meet applicable codes, as well as improve aesthetic appearance, for all travelers traveling across the state. This project was completed in two phases. The first phase included assessment of topography, property drainage, paving, curbing, parking, flatwork, landscaping and appurtenances, utilities, and ADA site accessibility. Phase II included civil design, structural engineering, landscape architecture, and construction administration for the renovation of each rest area.
